Grass Skirt Records is a small record label devoted to reissuing long lost gems of Hawaiian steel guitar from the 1920s and 1930s.

To date we have released two CDs ...the first devoted to Sam Ku West , the second to the Sunset / Hollywood label, whose main artist was the great Sol Hoopii.

Soon our third disc will be ready ...this time we move to Paris in the 1930s for 25 sides by the ace of the French steel guitar, Gino Bordin.

We also plan to stock a range of very limited edition CDs which are currently being planned by a new label called Stylo Magic. One of those projects is the Spanish steel player Daniel Arnau, but Stylo Magic still need to locate copies of just one of his three known  78s for Disque Henry and both his recordings for Fotosonor. If you know anyone who can help please let us know and we will pass the information to our friends at S-M.

In addition to our own Grass Skirt releases we sometimes stock copies of CDs by friends of ours , such as Martin Wheatley, Robert Armstrong and Alex Burns. And now we also  have copies of the brand new release by Rol Junell and his Hawaiian Novelty Orchestra.
